Capt. Slate’s SCUBA Adventures is a State Licensed SCUBA Instructor Training Facility by the Florida Department of Education.  We have been a SCUBA Instructor training facility since our opening in 1978. Currently we certify for NAUI (National Association of Underwater Instructors) , SDI (Scuba Diving International) and SEI (Scuba Educators International – formerly YMCA). Our instructor staff: Capt. Spencer Slate, Capt. Skip Dawson and Frazier Nivens have a combined 130 years of instructor training experience.  There is no other Instructor Training Facility that can offer that experience to you in making you the best SCUBA Instructor in the industry.  Capt. Slate is a recipient of the DEMA Reaching Out Award – Hall of Fame (2019) and the International SCUBA Diving Hall of Fame Award, (2004) headquarters located in Grand Cayman.

 Our facility is on site, offering instant access to the ocean on one of our three dive vessels. We are located in Tavernier-Key Largo, the dive capital of the world, we teach a minimum of one applicant, always small classes for the best training, no, “instructor mill”.  So what are you waiting for? Complete course price is only $2541.00 including course instruction, boat dives, pool and classroom training , national fees,  books and materials, everything you need.  Course time is 10 days minimum.  If dives are needed to reach the 100 dive requirement for Instructor Training we offer reduced rates to you to dive with us to get the minimum required.
